LEVEL 1 

Varnam and foundational exercises

  • Creating interesting permutations and combinations of Sarali Varsais / Alankarams / Dhatu Varsais etc to discover challenging fun warmup exercises.
  • Providing a deep insight through Varnams with respect to the essence of a Ragam, Raga Lakshanam, Important Phrases, Gamakams etc.

 

LEVEL 2 

Keerthanams / Krithis

  • Understanding the bhavam aspect of Carnatic music through compositions of great Vageyyakaras.

 

LEVEL 3 

Manodharmam, advanced violin techniques, fundamentals of music production

  • Delving beyond a composition and exploring multiple ways to improve Alapanai, Neraval and Swaram.
  • Curating tailor made listening sessions with respect to each ragam and explaining the intricacies in the same.
  • Techniques to improve bowing and fingering, and to incorporate the gayaki style into the violin playing.
  • Applying the nuances of compositions to enhance manodharmam.
  • Specific guidelines for preparing for a full fledged stage concert.
 
NOTE
  • All classes (Level 1, 2,3) are held online through Zoom / FaceTime / G-Meet
  • Duration of each class 40 – 45 mins per class, 1 class per week
  • Video demonstration – violin and vocal will be provided
  • Continuous feedback and Q&A through Whatsapp
